Horezu Hand Painted Deep Soup Bowl - Ecru

This deep bowl by Casa de Folklore is hand-painted and hand thrown, using raw clay collected locally from the Ulmet hills near Horezu, Romania. This deep bowl is ideal for soups and salads and is beautifully handcrafted. Horezu ceramics celebrate the heritage and tradition of Romanian folk pottery. It is decorated using a traditional Romanian painting technique for a distinctive finish.

Each piece is handmade by artisans using techniques that have been passed down through generations of makers and is totally unique. The colours used are natural, made from local minerals and clays, then applied to the ceramics using a tool made from a cow horn and feather, along with brushes and wire-tipped sticks. Each piece is shaped traditionally on a simple kick wheel and decorated with a traditional intricate swirling pattern.

Please note, variation in pattern and colour is part of the unique quality of these pieces.
