Keep warm this winter with wool

Gotland Wool Blanket - Rust
With chilly evenings, staying warm at home is on everyones mind. We are all looking for ways to keep warm (especially with rising costs). We wanted to share the joy of wool and some ideas to keep warm.
Here are some of the benefits of wool for both you and the environment -
Wool is natural and renewable -

A planet friendly yarn, choosing wool reduces the number of man made fibres ending up in landfill and the ocean. As well as being a sustainable choice, wool is temperature regulating, it's insulating yet breathable, making it ideal for all seasons. Wool is easy to care for and odour resistant and wool's natural waxy coating makes it resistant to stains.

Conserving our body heat -

By keeping warm throughout the day, layering up, choosing wool clothing which is naturally warm as opposed to synthetic fibres. In the evenings keeping warm at home with log fires and log burners, is an alternative to central heating.

Layer up on the sofa in cosy, thick wool blankets to keep out the chill -

Bringing tactile textures and new hues to complement the mood of your living space. At our O&F home we always have a number of throws on the arms of our sofas ready to throw on for film night or just for added warmth when relaxing and taking time out for slow evenings.

A selection of wool blankets
Consider ways to stay warm during the night in winter by adding layers to your bed with natural wool blankets -

Why not opt for more than one, pile as many as you like onto your bed for extra weight and warmth to help you sleep well. Blankets trap the air between the layers harnessing your own body heat. Our collection of wool blankets and throws in complementary tonal shades work perfectly in the bedroom and add a statement colour or texture to your bedroom. We always have a blanket over all the beds in our home, in both summer and winter to provide added warmth when needed for our seasonal duvets. And if you're still chilly in bed why not pop a hot water bottle in your bed to pre heat, and add bed socks to keep your feet warm and cosy.
